The Beach Boys
DID YOU KNOW…
the soldier Karl Johan Karlsson Stål (1867 – 1942) Högsby, Kalmar, Sweden emigrated to the USA on May 3, 1886, only 19 years old. The trip went to Hutchinson Kansas and his older brother who had emigrated a year earlier.
In the town of Hutchinson, Carl Johan met the Swede Maria Sofia Petersson (1867 – 1899) Mörlunda, Kalmar, Sweden. Now Carl Johan had changed his name to Charles John Sthole.
Charles and Maria (Mary) had a daughter, Edith Sophia Sthole (1897 – 1963). Edith Sophia met William Coral "Buddy" Wilson. The couple married on 7 March 1914 and later had 9 children. Among other things, the children Murry Gage Wilson (1917 – 1973) and Emily Wilson (1919 – 1979).
Murry Gage became a songwriter, talent manager, record producer and music producer. He fell in love with the artist Audree Neva Korthog (1917 – 1997) from Minneapolis. The couple had children Brian Douglas (1942), Dennis Carl (1944 – 1983) and Carl Dean (1946 – 1998).
Emily met Edward Milton Love (1918 – 2013) and the couple had, among other things, the child Mike Love (1941)
Brian, Dennis, Dean and cousin Mike Love later formed the group Beach Boys in 1961. So part of the Beach Boys history originates from Småland, Sweden.
